Alvino, Enchanted Rock, Texas
Alvino started rock climbing in 1988 in North Carolina. He moved west in 89 to explore Yosemite, Mexico, Colorado and everything in between. Over the next decade he climbed and bolted new routes and first ascents both in the U.S. and Mexico. Eventually he ended up with over 1000 pitches bolted, a couple hundred first ascents, and had climbedand bolted in every major climbing area in the U.S.
He has worked as a consultant for High Angle Rescue for the GoFast Sports BASE jumping games at the Royal Gorge Bridge in Canyon City, Colorado as well as developed one of the tallest sport climbing routes in the U.S. in the Royal Gorge. He moved back to Texas in 2006 to concentrate on establishing new routes in the Lone Star State and south of the border in Mexico.
He is by far the most experienced bolter on team Rock -About and continues to pass down his knowledge to the rest of the team. He helped put up 4 new routes in Mexico in 2009 as well as numerous routes at Reimer’s Ranch Travis County Park’s new North Shore area, and at Enchanted Rock SNA. If you want to learn how to bolt on lead or rap, Alvino is the man and probably one of the most experienced climbers you will ever meet!!!
