
Carl Fabre
Carl Fabre is a Certified Interpretive Guide, and a member of the National Association for Interpretation. A sixth generation Texan, Carl has camped, hiked, backpacked, climbed, and photographed at Enchanted Rock for over 39 years since 1972. His mom was actually at the grand opening of Enchanted Rock to tourism in 1929, when someone drove a Pontiac to the top!
Carl enjoys guiding you/nature lovers/hikers to the special places most tourists never see.
His experience and knowledge makes him an expert on Enchanted Rock, enabling you to discover its landforms, plants and animals, and learn about the Rock’s history and wild legends.
Carl customizes each interpretive hiking tour to every client’s desires. His emphasis is on the interpretation of the natural and cultural history of Enchanted Rock, including the geological landforms, local flora and fauna, ethnobotany, and archaeology.
His hobbies include backpacking , exploring for and excavating dinosaur bones in Montana, volunteering as a Texas Master Naturalist, and tending to his Certified Texas Wildscape at his Austin home.
