Marvin Seals

Marvin is a native of Texas, where he spent the majority of his life in the humid, piney woods north of Houston. There, Sam Houston State University supplied him with a graduate degree in Kinesiology, a career in recreational management, and a wife. Since that time, he has served as an Assistant Professor for the University of New Mexico-Gallup, as the Director of Recreation and Wellness at the Red Mountain Spa in Ivins, Utah, and Director of Fitness, Wellness, and Recreation for Westminster College in Salt Lake City.  Back in Texas now, as the Parks and Recreation Manager for the City of Elgin, Marvin is thrilled to return to E-Rock, where he first learned to climb some fifteen years ago under the tutelage of the legendary Birddog.  An AMGA certified Single Pitch Instructor and Wilderness First Responder, he’s climbed in Canada, Mexico, and a lot of places in between, slowing down only to run the occasional marathon and raise six kids.
