Looking for a way to get your kids outside, active, and engaged this summer or spring break? Our Kids Rock Climbing Camp is the perfect opportunity for children ages 9 and up to experience the excitement of outdoor climbing in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Designed to help kids build confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, our camp provides a week full of adventure at some of the best climbing locations in Texas.
No prior climbing experience is needed! Whether your child is brand new to climbing or already loves scaling walls, our expert AMGA-certified instructors will tailor the experience to suit all skill levels, ensuring every camper feels both challenged and accomplished.
The camp runs for five action-packed days, with kids exploring natural rock formations at popular climbing spots like Austin Greenbelt and Reimer’s Ranch. And it's not all climbing—when conditions allow, we cool off with a refreshing swim after morning climbs and enjoy a special treat at Amy’s Ice Cream midweek for an added touch of fun!
Each day, we meet at the first climbing location at 3755 S. Capitol of Texas Hwy. The camp goes from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m each day.
Our goal is to create an engaging and inclusive experience where kids can learn valuable skills, form friendships, and develop a lifelong appreciation for outdoor adventure.

What are the age requirements for the Kids Rock Climbing Camp?
Our camp is designed for kids ages 9 to 17, with instruction tailored to different skill levels. Whether your child is a total beginner or already has climbing experience, they will receive age-appropriate guidance in a safe and supportive environment. Camps are scheduled on specific dates. Is rock climbing safe for kids?
Absolutely! Safety is our top priority. Our instructors are highly trained and follow strict AMGA-certified climbing safety protocols. Kids will use helmets, harnesses, and climbing ropes at all times, and our staff provides constant supervision to ensure they are safe while learning and having fun.
What does a typical day at camp look like?
Each day is a mix of climbing, outdoor adventure, and skill-building. A typical day includes:
- Warm-up & safety briefing
- Climbing instruction and technique practice
- Outdoor adventure elements (hiking, caving, swimming depending on location)
- Breaks for snacks and lunch
- Fun group activities to build teamwork and confidence
Campers will visit different outdoor climbing locations throughout the week, such as Reimer’s Ranch, Barton Creek, and Enchanted Rock.
What should my child bring to camp?
We provide all climbing gear, including ropes, harnesses, and helmets. Your child should bring:
- Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
- Sturdy shoes or hiking boots (no flip-flops or sandals)
- Lunch, snacks, and plenty of water
- Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses
- A small backpack to carry personal items

Does my child need prior rock climbing experience?
No prior experience is required! Our camp is designed for kids of all skill levels, from beginners to more experienced climbers. Each camper will learn at their own pace with individualized instruction that helps build confidence and skills in a fun, supportive group setting.
