Mineral Wells State Park is about 1 hour west of Fort Worth. The are offers some really interesting climbing on a sandstone conglomerate type of rock. The area is suited to beginners to intermediate but is definitely a great place to learn climbing outdoors. You’ll want to take advantage of the lake just a short hike away but the crag is really shaded for summer months. More info at the park can be found here: https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/lake-mineral-wells.
