We climb at locations all over Texas, Mexico, and New Mexico. Most of our work is around the Austin area, but we do offer great climbing adventures in some other great locations.
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is one of our main destinations and is very popular because of its beauty and great climbing. Located outside of the Texas Hill Country city Fredericksburg, Texas, Enchanted Rock is a huge granite dome in a grandiose setting. Being about two hours from both San Antonio and Austin. E-rock is a great place to get out of the hectic city. It offers great climbing for beginners and those with experience alike, all in a beautiful setting. Reimer’s Ranch is another Hill Country climbing area, however it is much closer to Austin at about 40 minutes from downtown. Reimer’s is a limestone crag on bluffs above the beautiful Pedernales River. There are climbs for a new climber and a hard-man alike with fun for all ages. The Austin Greenbelt is great because it offers great climbing for all levels right inside the city. This is honestly a gem because we can teach locals and even travelers the joy of climbing without having to travel very far. We can even offer travel to and from your hotel to climb at the Greenbelt. This location is about eight minutes from downtown and you drop down into the Barton Creek to find big cliffs totally lost is the city. Click here for more information.
Mineral Wells State Park is about 1 hour west of Fort Worth. The are offers some really interesting climbing on a sandstone conglomerate type of rock. The area is suited to beginners to intermediate but is definitely a great place to learn climbing outdoors. You’ll want to take advantage of the lake just a short hike away but the crag is really shaded for summer months. Click here for more information.
El Potrero Chico, Mexico is a multi-pitch rock climbing destination in northern Mexico. This climbing destination is only about seven hours from Austin. We provide shuttle service to climb in the Potrero and also provide multi-pitch guiding to clients in the area. This is a great destination to learn basics of big walls and to get on some really big climbing with Rock-About. The Pecos River Gorge is in south Texas near Del Rio, which is about four hours from Austin. Again we offer a shuttle service to the private ranch, the Continental Ranch, where there are about 25o sport routes on this amazing river. We are the only operator at the moment to climb at this location because of access concerns. We are happy to offer newer folks and experienced climbers access to some awesome limestone. Organ Mountains, New Mexico are some of the most grand mountains in southern USA. They offer big walls and big adventures. We offer multi-pitch adventures that will definitely get your spirits up. This Traditional area is a great area to climb especially with experienced guides like us where placing protection is either unavailable or tricky. Let us take you to the top of these guys. The Sugarloaf is beautiful and amazing to climb. One of our guides even bolted the Rappel off the top when he put up a First Assent called Crescendo.
