Multi-day El Potrero Chico climbing trip
Experience a world-class, multi-pitch adventure on some of the tallest limestone in North America, just south of the border! Rock-About guides have been climbing here since its beginning in the late ’80s.
Enjoy the spectacular desert and mountain landscape of the Sierra Madre. Climbers are welcomed in the nearby town of Hidalgo, where you can experience local culture, food, music, and more.
Tour from the Potrero to rock art sites and the relaxing hot springs for the day. There is also big-city nightlife in the modern city of Monterey, Nuevo Leon!
El Potrero is considered one of the top 10 locations to climb in the world. In addition to well over 500 routes, the area boasts the second-longest sport route in North America, Timewave Zero, ringing in at 23 pitches and over 2,000 feet.
New routes are continually being developed. There is a large range of different climbs, most of them in the 5.8 to 5.13 grade. The type of climbing can range from steep overhanging face to easy slab.
Rock-About is now offering a shuttle service to climb at El Potrero Chico. We have partnered with locals to be able to offer an all-inclusive trip including housing, food, and travel expenses. We always leave early at 5 a.m. to climb on the arrival date and leave Mexico on the return day about 11 a.m. to allow for a great bridge crossing.
For each shuttle, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided. This year, we have the same awesome house reserved as last year.
Guiding at EPC is available for the shuttle but not required to come along. Cost is separate at $250 per person per day for multi-pitch classics like Estrallita, Space Boys, Yankee Clipper, etc.
As an AMGA Certified Rock Guide, Adam is certified to guide any rock in North America.
Join us this year from December 29th to January 4th.
