Trad Climbing Clinic
Learn to Trad Climb!
Learn trad climbing skills With our AMGA Certified Instructors
Trad Climbing, short for traditional, is the purest form of protecting yourself as you climb. We teach American Mountain Guides Association techniques to give you the skills to place removable gear for leading and building anchors. We focus on the following in this clinic:
- Knots and hitches used in climbing
- Proper placement of gear, Passive and Active gear placements
- Anchors for trad climbing
- Leading trad climbing routes
- And More
- Second day option, includes practicing anchor construction and gear placement and learning crack climbing
This is a more advanced climbing clinic.
Learn these techniques at Enchanted Rock, but use them at any Trad area anywhere in the world. Trad climbing should be taught by someone who is qualified, in our opinion. Yes, you can learn from your buddy, but you’ll be guaranteed to go through some growing pains.
Our clinics are intended to merge groups together. If you would like a private you can take a Course and can book any time. Clinics are only offered on pre scheduled days and will be listed below or on the calendar. All Clinics begin at 8:15 a.m.
All Clinics require a minimum of 3 people to make the clinic run.
Gear Included in Your Trad Climbing Course: Helmets, climbing shoes, harnesses, and ropes. Also, any Trad climbing gear that is needed. You’re welcome to use your own Trad gear once the guide has checked it out.
Payment required to confirm class. 72-hour cancellation notice required for refund of deposit minus a $20 service fee. Rainouts will be called by Rock-About guides the day of the class. If class is canceled, fees will be refunded or held for a rain check
